We began our 1.0 launch with our virtual world announcement two weeks ago, and continued on with the big press release this week. We have a few more things in store, but here’s some of the coverage and link love we’ve received so far.
NewTeeVee: “Sell Your Content With Cruxy 1.0″
Cruxy certainly has a grasp on what both web-savvy creators and consumers are looking for. The site’s model seems sustainable while its creators patiently builds a community. Now all they need is a couple of viral hits.
Mashable: Cruxy Launch
Cruxy has been tinkering around in their public beta for six months now, and today marks their official release of the Cruxy, Version 1.0. Their media marketplace acts as an online marking and distribution center and aims to help your sales and reach over the web.
Mashable: Cruxy Virtual World Widget
Admittedly, Cruxy has come a long way since their initial launch last September. Their Virtual World widget is niche, but a good move considering the typical marketing economy within Second Life and the inevitable shift to systems such as Second Life for the future of social networking.
Killer Startups: Cruxy Power Tools for Digital Creators
The simple set of tools will definitely be beneficial to artists, and there are so many digital creators out there, so they should have a huge pool of people using their service. With that huge pool of people, they’ll be making a decent profit off of all of their commissions.
Jonathan Coulton: Second Life MP3 Player
I read on Mashable about this new Second Life gizmo thingie from Cruxy. It’s meant to be like an in-game mp3 player. Your Second Life avatar wears it and it streams music based on an xspf playlist…Keep on rockin in the virtual world…
Tehelka: A Star of Your Own Making
Sites like Cruxy that bring together original creative content, and provide info on how to shoot, edit, upload, distribute, and promote small films, are expanding the platform for emerging talent that may be isolated from traditional film networks.
Mobil Avenue: Virtual World Widgets
Delighted to read today that Cruxy announced the release of a Cruxy SL Player. Cruxy has created a marketplace for artists by provided power tools enabling digital creators to promote, distribute and monetize their work. Widgets will play an important role in the Third Wave of the Web.
Shane Conder’s: An Attempt at Time Lapse Video
Then, I uploaded it to cruxy. Why cruxy and why not YouTube (or Google Video)? Well, I might try those, as well. Cruxy seemed like it might be easier to switch to a local version at some point, though. They also provide tools for transcoding video files to and from most of the major, unprotected formats.
Justin Nozuka: Ipod Video/Cruxy
whats happenin guys, just put up a performance of “Criminal” in Ipod Video format on this website that you can buy and download.
